Next step...

Went and saw Specialist yesterday and was told of the proceedure that I need.  Combined with some radiation, the lump which is invasive, is 1.5cm, which will be taken out as well as a fair amount of tissue around it, as well as the sentenial lymph node.

I need to see her again on Tues as I wasn't given all of the ultrasound pics from my recent scans and she wants to double check these with the ultrasound pics from last yr. As I have a lot of cysts in both boobs, there could be other dodgey ones in there that could come out at the same time.  I am happy that I get a few more days to get my head around this next step before surgery.  Looks like Thursday or the following Tues for surgery and then wait and see on results to see if it is Her2 or Ostregen Receptor and what kind of treatment I need.

Thanks for the responses from my previous posts.  I found that these kind of forums helped me through when we lost our Angel, so I thought there would have to be one for BC for sure and here we are. :o)

Take Care All.

  • Hi Rach -- welcome to the site, I'm glad you found your way here. :)  You look like you're finding your way around okay but if you need a hand with anything, just ask.

If you haven't found it already, the Help page has some useful links and a 'getting started' guide, and you can also find some more info on how the site works on the Q&A page.

Welcome again, and just shout if you need anything.

  • I remember back to my own diagnosis and found it all very overwhelming. One thing I clearly remember the doctor saying which was really helpful was to take things in baby steps...one thing at a time. You need to conserve your energy to get through the present, worry about the next bit when you get to it. Hope that helps. Be kind to yourself. xoxo

  • Glad you found the site and that it has been helpful to you in the past.  Good luck with your surgery.  What will be will be and then you will have a plan.  Keep coming onto the site especially if you have any questions.  There are lots of us on here and there is always someone who has been on the same "route" as yourself and can offer their story.  XLeonie
