next opperation 28th June

Hello all my pink peeps,

I have been very quiet lately. I had my expander put back in in April and we have been expanding it every 3 weeks so i can have the pernament prothesis put in by June the 28th.

I am really looking forward to have this expander taken out in June and then i will be finished with the hospital until i decide i am ready to have the skin graft done to recreate my new nipples.

Has anybody had the skin graft done??? i know what to expect with the expanders because i have done all that on the other side but the skin graft is really scarring me.

I have been frantically house hunting as our owner sold the house we were living in. I have finally found a new house and i am very excited to be moving in this friday!! YAY!!

    Hi Fran,

    I am really sorry to hear about your arm. Infections are the worst. It is excellent news though that it was not another nasty lump! Just a friendly one!

     I would love to see you. Yes we are very close to toukley. That is a shame that you are not going to the summitt. i am not sure if i will get selected but i am definatelly very interested.

    Hi Louise,

    Thankyou for your reply. That sounds like a good idea. i will mention it to my plastic surgeon. I am just really nervous to have more scars all over my body i think i have enough already. lol. If it is something that my surgeon would consider i may need to get your surgeons number, i will keep you posted.

    Hi Danielle

    I didn't have a skin graft for my nipples - the surgeon used the tissue that was already there and made a new nipple from that.  I'm not exactly sure how as I didn't have any "excess" skin but it was a fantastic result!  I am really happy with it :)  If your surgeon wants to call mine to find out how he did it, his name is Tony Connell and he is in Subiaco, WA.  I can give you a phone number if need be...

    HI  i am well had a lump cut out of my shitty arm was benign but i typical got a doozy of an infection its on the mend now but has taken over a month. 

    yes i have done to guest speaking events, and spoken to local doctors and chemists about the my journey kits etc. 

    i have another guest speaking event in the end of august. i cant make the summit will be away. but Rikki is going and Sam and one of my friend s from here Mary she is registered for the next community liason training. 

    have had a couple of write ups in the paper so its a start i guess still early days. 

    i hope your next op goes well sure it will, you have gone through worse so hang in. 

    we are hoping to go to my aunties in a couple of weeks ,she lives in toukley so will see how we go and if we get time will phone you and we can have a cuppa. , your'e up that way aren't you?

    Hi Fran, how are you? I am going well. Thanks for your reply.

    How have you been going with your BCNA work in the community? I have an event comming up. It is a massive fete in our area but i am nervous.

    Have you replyed on the summit in August? I would love to go. It would be grat to catch up with veryone and i walked away from the last training feeling so empowered.

    I will keep you posted on our big move and my next opperation.
