I was also told by my specialist that maybe I will not be good for chemo due to my type 2 diabetes but said the decision will be with my oncologist. The oncologist told me that yes chemo will cause havoc with the sugar levels for two days after and it is due to the pill I will get for nausea. She got in touch with my diabetes specialist about this problem so I reckon if I see the sugar all over the place for two days I will get in touch with him maybe his advice is to adjust the units for those two days. I take four shots daily one with long active and one quick active. Yes the support of our family and this group will help us as with us diabetics we have more to deal with I guess having two days of high levels.. So I wish good luck to us both as seems we are in the same situation newly diagnosed, I was in early March plus we are both diabetics.. Have a nice day and thanks for yoru post. Much appreciated.
