Hi I was diagnosed earlier this year when I went for my first 2 yearly mammogram. So it was a big surprise for me too. I was numb for about 6 weeks & then had my meltdown. Im also diabetic but was told that I couldn't have chemo, I had a lumpectomy & am going to have radiotherapy. My logical brain says chemo treats the whole body but because my immune system is already compromised & other major problems with my diabeties it wouldn't be a good idea. Iv been taking things one step at a time & with the support of my partner I am getting through it.
