Hi Anne, welcome
I just saw the time you were up and can remember those nights and early mornings searching the internet for answers day in day out. The internet became my nightly companion for several weeks. I guess thats where you are at now and thats very normal. What you are feeling is very natural and everyone on here has at some stage felt the same way during this horrible cancer journey. It doesn't matter if they found ten lumps or one, the emotions go wild once you hear that word.
That word has invaded your space, All of your thoughts are now consumed about that dreaded disease ,and you don't like it. they are exactly what was going through my mind too. Before i was diagnosed in July with IDC, i always thought of cancer as chemo and a death sentence. I have since learnt so much about cancer and my body for that matter and i was totally wrong. The survival rate is just so good now.
Once you start your radiation treatment and other treatment if you have to, you will feel much more in control. Just the waiting for results and now the waiting for treatment has not helped with those emotions either. Try and keep busy until you get in and remember that there is always some one on this wonderful site that can answer any questions or just be a support to you when you need to vent.
I am on my last 9 days of radiation now and you will breeze through it too. You may get some burns or other skin reactions but anything is better than having chemo.
Our thoughts are with you and we wish you well in your journey. Have you ordered the "My Journey Kit" found on the home page of BCNA. I really found it a fantastic help.
Cheers Jo xx
