Newly diagnosed
I am married 42 year old with a 9 year old son.
I was diagnosed on 11/12/13 - I had a lump in my left rbeast, which turned out to be a cyst. they found cancer in my right breast - I had no sympto...
Thanks for your lovely words ladies,
Things turned out to be a bit more troublesome in my journey - lumpectomy first, followed by 8 pages of pathology. A bilateral matectomy done 2 weeks after the lumpectomy, all within 6 weeks of diagnosis.
I had 3 tumours in the right, with areas of both DCIS and LCIS in both breasts.
I am now on chemotherapy - 4 down, 12 to go. I have found it confronting to lose my hair, and without breasts as well, I'm not feeling so girly at the moment.
My husband has been amazing though and my son is coping very well. So-called friends have stayed away, but it is their loss, not mine! I have found so much support both on here and on the FB page for younger women with this.
I do know that this will be a distant memeory before too long, but appreciate that you ladies understand just how hard it is to travel this path.
Thanks for the support!
