Newly Diagnosed Pagets Disease

Could I ask what may seem like a strange question of you all? Did your breast surgeon mark your breasts with ink prior to your mastectomies? My reason for asking is that all pics I see here and elsewhere appear to have been marked up prior to surgery...I was not, which May or may not explain why my incisions look like they have been done by an apprentice butcher...just curious.
