I am good really, like you, after many trips to docs, breast screen, creams, girlfriends, mammograms, scans, biopsies my breasts more on display that they mostly got themselves out, I already diagnosed padgets from the internet what I did not self diagnose was extensive DCIS. Mastectomy of left highly recommended. There was a lump in my right breast, felt but not seen on mammogram but all focus was the left. I decided, me alone, to have both removed, guessing if all this was going on in the left breast and no biopsies on right DCIS must be there too right? Yip, after mastectomy it was there too....thank goodness I am a doctor...in my own mind anyway ha ha.
I also had friends and family ask about that 'spot thing' and like the cancers cut from me, I also cut those non supportive people from my life just like a cancer. All we read here and on other support groups is family and friends helping you survive thru it, sadly many don't because they don't know how, or can't or have their own issues. I could write a good story about support...first I would cry by the lack of care and understanding from them, now I hardly give a thought to some 'close' family and friends, I have not gone thru all this to give them a story to chat about over coffee. It's the kindness of strangers that takes my breath away don't you find.
So pics off to cosmetic surgeon, hope he can help me, if not I will find someone who can. Cartilage from behind your ear to make a nipple? Did that work?
