Hi Desley
First and foremost I want to wish you luck with your check up in May. I know how traumatic it is when that time of year comes around, been there for 16 years, but not with Pagetts and I will be sending you good vibes for an all clear result. I can also understand the frustration of spending $600 for the MRI. Breast cancer should be a qualifier for getting it government funded. Our daughter paid for mine before I was operated on, then they didn't find anything in either breast, and I knew it was already in the right side. It is very worrying, I too have thought of removing the other breast, to eliminate the worry. Please let me know how you go, and what your surgeon thinks of taking the other breast. I did say to mine when I was diagnosed, to take both if it was better to do so, but she assured me it was not necessary. ( easy for her to say this when it isn't her facing uncertainty)
My daughter is a radiographer, used to do MRI's and she feels that mine was not read properly, but have no proof of that, and daughter now lives overseas. Anyway, try to stay as stress free as you can in the next few weeks, good luck
X Jill
