I have an MRI and an ultrasound every 12 months and the following week I see my breast surgeon for follow up which involves her checking my breasts to make sure all is o.k. and also to give me the results of my mammogram and ultrasound. After the radiotherapy (which was 35 treatments) I had to see my breast surgeon 8 weeks after treatment.
I would strongly advise you to follow up with the breast surgeon.
By the way when they removed my nipple they also removed basicall the whole core of my breast and did a reconstruction at the same time. I was very luckky to have a breast surgeon that treated me as a private patient in a public hospital. (Peter MacCallum) Where do you live Ev?
