Newly diagnosed less than 2 weeks - scared
Hi,
I'm 48, with two beautiful teenagers.
My first post.
After having a mammogram and ultra sound for a lump showed increased density, but nothing definite. I was advised to have a needle biopsy and while doing the procedure it still just looked like 'fatty bits' in my breast. I was completely shocked when the pathology results came back the next day with malignant cells and something that looked relatively small.
Last week I had an excision of breast lump and sentinel node biopsy. It was much bigger than expected 40mm mucinous. One out of 3 nodes had micro mets show up later in pathology. It's hormone receptor positive and her2 negative.
I'm about to have further excision next week.
I know there's a long 'journey' ahead. So far it's been a rollar coaster ride and I haven't even started yet. More surgery - chemo - radiotherapy.
