Newly diagnosed and scared

Thanks for all the comments. Bit to think about. The evidence suggests no increase in survival chance with mastectomy vs lumpectomy and rad (in the right cancer). And it can come back even with mastectomy right? Yes it totally sucks that there is no family history don't drink heavily or smoke eat well exercise etc etc. plus I breasted until 2 days before my op!! Which supposedly adds protection. I'll talk it over with my surgeon and rad onc. Start date is next Thursday. Don't think I'd avoid radiation even if I had mastectomy as it was partly invasive. I guess I can only do what the gold standard of treatment for 2012 and hope for the best! No crystal balls with my name on it!
