Hi, my name is Maria and this is one group I never expected to be joining! I was diagnosed with an early stage breast cancer 2 weeks ago. It is 14mm, grade 2 invasive ductal cancer of the left breast...
Hi Maria and welcome to the online network:):) Stay connected on here and you will get through this just fine! Almost 2 years ago now ,I had the same diagnosis as you,but mine was slightly larger.I had a sentinel node biopsy and mastectomy, followed by chemo.I am feeling fantastic now.Try not to worry about the sentinel node biopsy. The injection beforehand ,I found, was not really painful, and like you,I had been worrying myself about it in the days leading up to it.Just try to remember that breast cancer these days is VERY treatable, and most ladies go on to lead long, healthy lives.Invasive ductal carcinoma is the most common of the breast cancers, and also not as prone to recurrence like some of them.Keep busy, and try not to worry about things before they happen. We are here if you need to chat or ask questions.Cheers Robyn xox
