New Year Better Year

Hi Everyone

I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Europe.The sort of trip you feel is very much needed after diagnosis and treatment for Breast Cancer.  I didn't want my life to change and one of the things I greatly enjoy is skiing. My husband John and I just love skiing and travelling together.

We rode the highest cable car in Europe and breathed in the alpine air and the beauty of the landscape.  I have attached a photo I have called 'on top of the world' which is taken on that peak.

I am now looking forward to my first year as CEO of BCNA.  We have planned around a dozen forums this year so I hope to meet some of you during the year.  Meanwhile keep in touch online.

    Hi Maxine, what a fantastic experience you had in Europe and especially being on top of the world. I had seen a lovely photo of you and the gorgeous Sam in the Warrnambool Standard on Saturday. You both show a tower of strength. I am organising a group of people to join me in the "Mothers Day Classic" walk/run in Warrnambool on May 13th. My team is called "support JB'" a dear friend and mother of 3 with breast cancer. This is a fantastic time to funraise for ongoing research and to support women with breast cancer. I am also studying at La Trobe University in the Masters of Breast Care Nursing which has been an inspiration to gain a better insight into the many issues surrounded by all that is affected by breast cancer. Your story is an inspiration to all, kind regards, Melissa King

     Great photo ! Glad you made a memorable trip recently. Was the cable car to the Matterhorn? I went there on a cable car many decades ago now; in 1977.

    Wow-love the pic.You look happy to be on top of the world. I leave for Europe on 11th March for a 5 week holiday.Hope to meet you later in the year.

    Glad to hear about your wonderful holiday.  You sure do deserve it.  That's what I say ever day now especially when I "treat" myself.  I would love to see the pic but it hasn't come through on my computer. Look forward to meeting you during 2012. XLeonie
