New to the Group

Two years ago, I was diagnosed with grade 3, Triple Negative breast cancer. Since then, I have undergone neoadjuvant chemotherapy, a mastectomy, radiation therapy, etc. A little over two years later, I am "cancer-free" and starting a new journey with my husband in Sydney. I am new to the area and would love to know if anyone can let me know of a great oncologist or hospital here in Sydney. I am happy to have found this group and look forward to sharing, learning and gaining inspiration from all of you!

  • Hi Alissa, I am new  to Sydney too.  We moved here in January and I was diagnosed early stage, grade 3, triple negative (and subsequently BRCA1) a few weeks later.  Talk about a fast introduction to the Australian healthcare system.  Where about are you living?  I have been treated at the Mater Hospital (private) in North Sydney, but my medical team also work out of Westmead and North Shore.  My oncologist Fran Boyle is just amazing - I can't recommend her highly enough, and the rest of my team were awesome too.  If you want further details just let me know.  I've finished my main treatment - just getting my expanders inflated and hopefully will have my implants in in the new year.
