Yes I agree with you .....I told the surgeon there was nothing medical done to me that would hurt me more than when we had to tell our boys. Didn't help they were all in the middle of end of year Uni and school exams at the time but we are so proud of them because they passed everything :) Then 5 days after I came out of hospital we had my son's 21st at our home (80 people) which I'd had organised 6 months ago so just got on with it.....almost more trouble to postpone it ! And it was a fantastic night !
You really are very special having the two different lumps ! Did you find them yourself or on mammogram ?
I love my yoga; went on a yoga retreat to Bali in March 2013 and have 3 different teachers....I actually took my mat into the hospital and did some leg and balance poses which made me feel more normal ! I think the nurses thought I was nuts !! ( hence the name ) And I've been back at my usual classes since a week postoperative but just doing what I can ( I had a massive haematoma and seroma on one side so had to be very careful ). I'm going today and have decided ill just have to do bald yoga because I can't be worrying about some head covering falling off during Downward Dog !!
If you ever need an inspiration look on YouTube for Tao Porchon Lynch ( yoga teacher in NYC.....95 years old ) I had the great honour to meet her and do a class with her on September 26 th . She is extraordinary and she gave me her book and meditation CD.....neither of us thinking 5 weeks later I would need that meditation CD every day and night !!!
Second round chemo this Tuesday so I'm hoping ill be like you and not have that reaction this time .
Sounds like you're doing really well . I still have my occasional moments where I think " how did I get here ?" Because everything happens so quickly... But here we are .
. Did you ever read that book to your kids " We're going on a Bear Hunt "? ...this whole thing reminds me of that book ..."Uh oh , a biopsy , a pointy needly biopsy,...we can't go over it , we can't go under it , we'll just have to go through it !! Needle prick needle prick needle prick !!"
And to be honest it hasn't been ALL bad ! I've spent more time with the boys over the holidays than I have for years, more time with my Mum and Dad and have been completely overwhelmed by the kindness and support shown to me by my friends ....And my 2 dogs think its the best thing that ever happened to them ...never had so much attention in their lives !!
Happy New Year to you and I hope your journey of discovery finds you in some wonderful places .
Xxx Karen
