New start with new drug

Today I began my first treatment with the experimental drug GDC4950g. As apart of the trial I have a 2 in 3 chance of getting the GDC4950g compared to the placebo but for each study Fulvestrant is given to everyone but the pills are different. After the drug was explained to me last week I feel very positive about this trial. The GDC is supposed to stop the genetic path that the cancer has created to try to survive on. The Fulvestrant is to stop the receptors from recepting with estrogen and grow.

I just really hope I have the good stuff, lol. It's not a chemo drug, luckily so my immune system isn't compromised and I don't have to stick to a particular diet; just eat healthy and take care of myself.

I had lots of blood taken from me today and got TWO long needles of Fulvestrant INTO MY BUM! In both cheeks! My poor bum! after that I went to the pharmacy and a doctor told me information about the experimental drug GDC0941 and took 5 tablets. I then went back to get more blood taken then was free to go. The tablets have to be taken everyday and the needles are fortnightly.

Common side effects are vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, bone aches, tiredness, muscle aches and headaches. Stuff I can pretty much put up with.

Fingers crossed this works!!!!
