Couldn't resist a comment here - at 72 after two prolapse surgeries and with another prolapse in train my bladder is often in hysterics. Even without chemo I can never be sure of making it to the safety of a toilet, so I wear a light pad pretty much all the time, and a heavier one to bed when I feel more irritation than usual. Nothing to be ashamed of or frightened by, so many women finish up in the same condition. Recent research is putting it down to damage in childbirth especially by forceps deliveries affecting particular pelvic floor muscles. Doing pelvic floor exercises can help some but not others. When you are processing a lot of liquids as in chemo treatment, and your whole nervous system is in disarray, the ability to hold it in on demand may be just too hard. But of course ask the nurse. Good luck. xx
