New member looking for support

Well CT & bone scan done, was told today i would have to wait until the 13th for the results, so going through the back door by seeing my GP tomorrow who should be able to give them to me.  Hoping all is well, but I would rather know bad news right away than sit and wonder for a week.  

I've had my short back'n'sides haircut ready for my chemo, I actually quite like it!  It sure is low maintenance, hairdryer, brush & hairspray all packed away for the duration now.  

Finally had my drain 'shortened' today, so instead of lugging around a bag of ooze (dont know what else to call it) I have a little bag stuck to my side to catch it all.  Gives me a nice sense of freedom.

Robyn, wondering how long you have to wait to get your results back.

Michelle R, good luck with round 5, hope it goes as smoothly as possible for you.

Hi Jenny and Robyn,

Hope your scans went well yesterday, Jenny, and the results come through fast for you - and that your scans don't take too long, Robyn.  This roller coaster just keeps powering along - you can't get off, so just go with it one step at a time. Any distractions are good. The girls here have put up great shopping lists for chemo kits and hospital stays - having everything before starting is a huge plus.

I have weekly chemo No. 5 this morning, so am having the ginger tea and arrowroot biscuit before starting the pre-meds.  Will be checking the posts for your results and wishing you both nothing but good ones.

Hi Michelle,

It's good to hear that the upcoming tests aren't too onerous, and great to hear that you aren't suffering too much with your chemo!  I hope it stays that way for you.  It gives me hope that maybe I wont get too many of the side effects I have been warned about.  I'm beginning to see that I have no choice but to take everything one day at a time - big learning curve when I've always been such a 'planner'.  Thank you for your kind thoughts.

I know how you feel with the CT & bone scan, I have mine on Wednesday and like you I'm struggling with the 'positive' thoughts.  Will probably not get the results till Friday or even Monday, I find the waiting is the hardest bit.  I find that distracting myself is the only way to take my mind off it - going to my eldest son's for tea tonight, organising a bit of stuff from home for work today, that sort of thing.  Watching garbage movies on telly!  Fingers crossed we both get some good news soon!

Not handling the bone scan &ct to well having a bit of trouble staying positive, but trying to keep my head up for the boys who have taken it all so well so far. Will be so relieved when all the tests are done and I know where I am heading. Roby

Just take one day at a time chicky babes.

Just remember to have someone come with you all the time when you have appointments , as you will forget or not digest some of the things that are being said.

And remember, we are all here, no matter what time of day or night.
