Just been diagnosed with phyllodes tumour with a sarcoma in the middle malignant of course. Is there anyone else out there as I am told both are rare . Just my luck tossing up between lumpectomy and ...
Welcome to our group
Sorry to hear of your diagnosis but I hope you know that you are not alone and our Phyllodes group will be here for you to vent your feellings and share our journey with you
My diagnosis was agiven to me in stages. First that I had a Phyllodes tumour that they originally thought was a fibroadenom. Then after a lumpectomy the pathology came back athat it was malignant and that the margins that they took were not enough so they did another lumpectomy. Through all the stages I went with what my intuition told me to do and so I felt calm by knowing I chose what I wanted. After a long recovery I am back at work now.
It's scarey but at one point I felt empowered because I educated my self with information by reading and asking all the dumb questions to my doctor and the Breast Care nurses. The support is wonderful and it's there to be used when you feel like you're alone.
If you haven't already ordered you "My Journey" kit its a wonderful resource even if it's not all relevant to us it still gives you info to make any educated decisions you may need to make. Best wishes to you for your decisions, treatment plan and recovery. Believe in yourself. Keep well and happy
