New chemo treatment-Xeloda
Yep....results of scans etc show no further progression...... no new metastases. Looks as tho bone mets have stabilised....but, ct scan of neck showed a nodule on my thyroid. Ultrasound and bloods test to be done before next visit to my onc. Also have now been put on Xeloda. Two weeks on , one week off for the next couple of cycles, then more scans etc. Have to have portacath flush and xgeva injections at least every 6 weeks now. At my previous visit to onc I was assured that I would get a break from chemo. Obviously I misunderstood as I only got an extra week before being put on oral chemo. I had plans for the anticipated so called break, as I had been so unwell during treatment and unable to drive, I put off going to dentist, having my car serviced, and doing a little 'me time'. Hopefully the side effects from xeloda won't be so invasive this time and I will be able to do more than just lie around and have regular visits to hospital, as has been the case while on EC. I knew I would be put on some sort of ongoing treatment, hopefully this one keeps everything stable. Sue:-)
