Negative Pressure Therapy

So lovelies, I trotted off to the Lymphoedema clinic last Friday and all is good but I was telling my Occupational Therapist how my cording has returned over winter ( not a big issue as its  very thin and flexible and doesn't limit my range of movement) and the aching that goes with it. My Occ Therapist asked me if I would like a try of the latest gadget they have at the clinic called the The Negative Pressure Machine!!! Sounds a bit like sci-fi, looks a lot like a vacuum cleaner with the nozzle hanging off a stand with special suction cup (mouth) at the end.  So off her assistant went, my underarm and side foob were both meticulously vacuumed (should have got them to do my belly button in case there was any lint!! There wasnt :) )So the following day my cording seemed a bit more prominent , slightly tender in the vacuumed areas. But last night and today (1/2 week later) I could not find my cording. So I've checked twice and nup still can't find it. So I'm going to check every couple of days to see if it lasts. Just thought I'd post so any one else can check to see if its available near you too. Worth a shot. Xx Cath

  • Oh I hope so Paula, friend of mine is having it twice a week for her Lymphoedema and is getting great results. Crossing fingers for you. Xx
  • Wow. That sounds amazing.
Wonder if it would make its way to Cairns.

  • Bwahahaha Occ Therapist said she was going to give her cellulite a go!!!!
  • Lol @Zoffiel. @socoda wonder if it sucks fat also?
  • OK, I want to try that. Best not have a few wines and attempt home therapy. I'm looking at the vacuum cleaner right now, it's sitting in the middle of the lounge room (where it's been since Monday)  I could be tempted--God knows I'm not much good at using it for it's intended purpose :)
