Back in 2003,after a mammogram showed a suspicious lump,my surgeon did a fine needle biopsy in her room.She could feel the lump and didn't need an ultrasound to guide her.The 2nd time was different(2010)- I had a suspicious,3cm scattered area so had a core biopsy under ultrasound.Either method is used so don't worry in that regard.How awful for you to have to worry and wait at this time of year.I had to have a full body bone scan 10 days before Xmas.It was an anxious wait but a relief when I got the all clear.
