My chemo is to be 3 FEC then 3 docetaxel cycles. In the 2 weeks after the 1st dose (June 27) I need to interview for a permanent vacancy. I would really appreciate hearing any advice on when might be best time to schedule.
The oncologist said that it will probably be the 2nd dose before hair loss which means that I won't scare applicants - is this what others have experienced?

Yes think you're right about the nodes being the reason for our chemo and oncologist's words were "we'll be hitting this as aggressively as we possibly can!" Guess that was supposed to be the warning for tough times ahead.
You are young my sweet and must be so strong to work through this with young children - I'm an old 52 who lives in Devonport North West Tasmania! Some contrast there. At least if I am pretty sick it's so cold that snuggling up under the covers is a good option!
I have 3 grown children forging their own careers but am lucky that at the moment they are all in various parts of Tassie (after years overseas and for 1 Q'land) and I have my first grandchild due in a week! That's exciting and gives me a real positive to focus on.
Well must go and get ready to drive through for this portaline surgery (only a bitover an hour).

Yes I am negative to all three receptors, that is why I asked you as yes my chemo regime is the same, I think it is the same due to the lymph nodes. And yes I have radiation in 7-9 weeks time, I have currently just finsihed my 4th cycle of chemo (but my 1st of Taxotere), be warned, FEC makes you pretty sick, but so far I am doing pretty well on the Taxotere, they must hit us hard first up from my experiences so far! No I don't get the hormone treatment due to being Triple Negative. Where do you live? I am 36 and live in Tieri Central Western Qld.
Thank you so much. Think my surgeon summed it up in her first referral letter - called me a workaholic! I can back away from most things but this is the chance for the beginning of a career for a young graduate and that's what really makes me determined to do the best by them.
Just ignore if want - Does triple negative refer to ER, PR and HER2? Our chemo regime is identical and I'm guessing you're also up for radiation but not the hormone (as I am).

I have Stage 3C, IDC too, 3 tumours, largest 5cm and 13 of my 26 lymph nodes involved :( I am triple negative though :(

Oops let's hope I'm not too foggy towards end of this 1st round - I will have to be prepared to make the tough call of a replacement for me.
I have invasive ductal carcinoma - grade 3 and 4 lymph nodes with extracapsular extension involved, HR+ and fortunately HER2-.
I also found my first cycle of FEC was my foggiest.... I didn't feel the chemo fog on the other cycles like I did the first!
Hi Tanya and thanks. I think given replies to date I need to consider when my brain might be more capable than if I have hair or not!! It may be a hat happy interview panel.
