Need to know to stop worrying

First time posting.  Had a lump taken out couple of weeks ago plus two lymph glands.  When the results came back one lymph had cancer and was given  the choice of having the remaining lymph out to check them.  Said to do so and had it done last Wed 10th. Had a drain to carry around until yesterday when it was checked and now have a flat one to catch the little bit left.  Had a phone call yesterday to say the doctor wants me to have a PET scan and I am worried that they have got results, didn't tell me yesterday, and it is bad news.  I am hoping it is normal to have done as I am scared.  Suoosed to get results Thursday from the surgeon. Thanks for listening

    The waiting is awful. Before I went for my mastectomy I'd  had a whole body CT scan, a bone scan and a breast MRI scan....and I'd  already had an ultrasound and biopsy. They just want as much info as possible to ensure the treatment plan is the right one. Pathology results takes at least 10 days so unlikely they have the results yet. Big breathe. You can do this. Soon you will know the results. We are here for you if you need. Kath x

    Hi Christine.  I keep saying to myself that it is for my own good health that this is going on.  Will certainly let you all know what is going on.  It is so good to have this facility to be able to talk and know other people can relate.

    Hi!  It's easy for me to say don't worry you'll be fine, your emotion is natural as this is a brand new world that you've entered!   Try and take a few deep breaths and take comfort in knowing that your medical team has you as their priority and doing every test possible to ensure that the right course of treatment is recommended and set you on the path to beating it!

    Good luck with your appointments and come back on and tell us how you got on!

    Hi Triciasid,

    Sorry to hear you had to go back for more lymph node surgery. Waiting for news & results after your surgeries is such a nerve wrecking time :( 

    At least you will have some answers & hopefully a preliminary treatment plan by the end of the week.

    I know it may not feel like it right now but you can do this.
