Hi . I had skin sparing bilateral mastectomy on 11 July, so I'm nearly three weeks post surgery. It is definitely doable, but just take all the pain relief you can and don't try to over do it in the beginning. My drains stayed in for ten days and once they came out I started to feel much better. I have an eleven month old baby and I have just started to lift him again without it hurting too much. Yesterday I did my first drive in th car. You will be amazed at how your body does heal, it's just those first few days that are particularly hard. Get as much rest and sleep as you can. Take care . Xoxox
