A Diep reconstruction is when they take a roll of tummy tissue and fashion it into a boob. You have to have enough fat and you get a tummy tuck at the same time. They do micro surgery as they need blood vessels to be hooked up with chest arteries. The new boob needs a blood supply.Nipples come later. It's a long time under anaesthetic, possibly 15hrs if you are having 2 boobs done.It is not without it's risks and not all plastic surgeons do this op.It can take up 8wks to recover.Oh yes,and it's very expensive! If I got cancer in the second breast I'd seriously consider it.Can't face anymore surgery for the time being(4 ops in the last 3yrs).
