Hi Tonya,
Thank you for your response.
My boob has been tender for a couple of years but did get worse after radiation. I am now sorry I just didn't get rid of it because the treatment only made it worse and it never really settled down. I am told I will probably just have to live with it. I am also on Tamoxifen but have had no side effects other than hot flushes in summer which eased through winter. I have heard that it doesn't agree with a lot of people but I'm not sure why. I must be one of the lucky ones so far but I won't count my chickens! I just wasn't ready to deal with losing my boob at 42 years old but if my surgeon had recommended it I would have done it. I guess I just made my decision based on the vibes I was getting at the time. My problem is I just didn't get enough info. I did not know until recently that if I decide to have a masectomy, my choices will be limited due to radiotherapy. My main worry is that with my breast cancer-no one could feel it. I didn't pick it up, I just went in for my annual check up and mentioned that I was tender which was quite normal for me. The good one has cysts also. I still don't check my boobs because I just can't stand it and can't feel anything anyway-I will have to try and be more vigilant. They have had many hands checking over them over the past 12 months anyway with all the appointments-I feel like an old cow!!
What is diep and is that our only other option besides a prosthesis?
Kind regards
Deb
