@socoda you are on the right track. There are hundreds of cannabinoids which link with a variety of receptors in our bodies. The pot that gets you stoned has been bred to produce optimum levels of THC, for obvious reasons. The elements that are being tested are not necessarily going to make you all fuzzy and hungry--though even standard 'mary jane' is, anecdotally, of use as a relaxant and appetite stimulant. I found an oil infusion very useful during chemo and needed minimal antiemetics during treatment--but I still would have been in trouble if I'd been drug tested on the road.
One of the major barriers to this research is the public perception of what the cannabis is being used for in a therapeutic environment. I think life will be heaps easier for those who follow us if the science is properly explained. Marg
