Thanks again for sharing your experiences with me ladies. I would much rather prepare myself for the worst and be pleasantly surprised than think that it's going to be ok and find out that it's much worse than anticipated.
I will have to look up the long term effects. That is a very good point that I hadn't thought of so thank you for that.
Janey, if you don't mind me asking. Were you allowed to take pain medication for your headaches or does the chemo just make that impossible? I have had headaches and migraines all of my life and I expect to have the worst through this process. Medications seem to have that effect on me normally. If can't take pain meds for it then I want to be knocked out and stay fast asleep for a week if needed.
Thank you Robyn. I have 23 foster aunties and uncle and one adopted sister so I'm probably more happy than most with the idea of developing a family through adoption or fostering. The big 'but' is my wish to see my partners child with his genes (all 6ft gorgeousness and semi-autistic/super smart genes) combined with mine and that's what is devastating to me. But as I said, I'm ok with adoption so we will pursue when I'm able. I have also been thinking lately about the idea that I could create life and our baby might develop breast cancer and that has helped my view of adoption much more as well,
Thanks again and yes, without a doubt, I look forward to a cancer free future where I spend most of my free time in here giving advice and support wherever I can.
Thanks,
Janina
