My story so far ...

23/2 : Found lump in right breast. Given mammo appointment in two weeks by Breast Screen, but made an appointment with Dr and luckily given ultrasound appointment for next day,

27/2 : US, followed by mammo; US medic tells me I have BC.

Malignant appearing 15mm mass; sampled with two 14 gauge core biopsies. 14mm abnormal appearing lymph node in the right axilla, sampled with a fine needle biopsy.

The histology on the right breast mass indicates an infiltrating ductal carcinoma. The cytology on the right axillary lymph nodes is consistent with metastatic adenocarcinoma.

7/3 : CT and bone density scan

Apart from the enlarged right axillary lymph node, there is no evidence of metastatic disease. There appears to be an aneurysm in the upper abdomen, possibly related to the superior mesenteric artery.

No evidence of osteoblastic skeletal metastasis.

13/3: second CT angiogram to confirm presence of aneurysm.

Complex aneurysm of the inferior pancreatic co-duodenal branch of the superior mesenteric artery. This is contiguous with an arcade with the gastroduodenal artery and is thus thought the main arterial supply to the hepatic artery as there is near total occlusion of the proximal coeliac axis. A vascular surgical opinion is suggested.

17/3 : Wide excision lumpectomy and axillary dissection.

Awaiting pathology results and consult with vascular guy.

It doesn't rain ... but it pours ...

  • I really appreciate the contact!

I'm not a medic, but in the science field. Those details were in my reports, and I noted them here so I could understand my problems and remedies as time goes on. It's all so surreal at the moment ...

  • I felt you have a medical background  as you description reads like a doctors report.  I must admit, for myself, all I heard in the beginning was "You have breast cancer!"" followed by "Triple Negative" and I acknowledged some of the medical report, at the time.  You have described your situation to the letter, with all of the terminology, and I congratulate you for charting your course on here with your blog.

I wish you well.  If you have any questions, need any emotional support, there is plenty to read on this website and plenty of support when you need it.

    Best of luck. Bel
