I had a great morning yesterday having my head shaved & make up done... I've done the World's Greatest Shave last year, so I wasn't overly attached to my hair, but it was nice to have it done by a good friend who helped make the situation not quite so serious or depressing. It was actually quite hilarious as we did diffferent "Miley-esque" hairstyles, & took photos. Great for a laugh! And let's face it, if you don't laugh, you cry, right? Then I had my makeup done and felt lovely. I really hope I get to keep my eyebrows and eyelashes, but I guess I don't really get a say in that! I had a nice morning this morning "supervising" the Sussan Women's Fun Run form the cafe across the road (with a ham & cheese croissant & iced cofffee :-P ) Great job to all involved - whilst I wasn't really up to actually participating this year, next year it's on the cards! Oh Bobbie. You look gorgeous! What a lovely way to do the deed. You should put the last one on as your profile photo. Even if you do lose your eyebrows and lashes you can certainly pull it off girl. There's a great tutorial on how to draw in eyebrows and this is what I did and no one new I had fake drawn brows. Here's the link http://eyelineher.blogspot.com.au/search/label/eyebrows. As l said before, l've had the shaved head before, so knew what to expect... & l enjoy messing around with makeup, jewellery etc but this will be different as there will be NO HAIR at all...& l was nervous about not having lashes or brows to frame my face...didn't want to look like an alien!! So thankyou for that, & l may just use that photo for my profile, l'd forgotten l hadn't chosen one yet!

There you go. A lovely profile shot! You'll be surprised how easy the 'putting on eyebrows' is. And I can just see you in lovely scarves. I twisted the ends up into little rosettes and that became my signature style. But I think with your lovely face and 'nice' shaped head, you could definitely pull off the bald look. I have really admired women who 'own' their bald heads and I think you could be one of them. :) Cheers Janey xxx

Hiya Bobbie, you look gorgeous. I also used the same tutorials online, she also uses fake lashes, I loved those, and how to arrange head scarves. It is an amazing difference when completely bald to just put your brows and lashes on. cheers Louie

You were up about the same time as me last night. There's a lot of night owls here aren't there. Although my hair started to fall out day 14 of my first chemo, I never went the 'shiny' billiard ball bald. I always had a tiny little bit of peach fuzz still there. I lost my eyebrows, eyelashes and body hair pretty much but always had just that tiny bit of fuzz on my head. There is a BCNA fact sheet that's worth looking at if you haven't already. Bobbie, I've never heard of hair falling out after just a week, it's always been around day 12 to 14 for most of the women I've read about. Even those on dose dense chemo. Hey Bobbie, I found it does happen rapidly when it's time. I clipped back to half an inch when it first started. The night before my 2nd chemo (20 days after my 1st), hopped in the shower to wash what I had left, looked down, and my remaining hair was at my feet. Very strange feeling, took me a while to get used to the new look. Stay well and keep that beautiful smile on your face,

Hey Bobbie, I found it does happen rapidly when it's time. I clipped back to half an inch when it first started. The night before my 2nd chemo (20 days after my 1st), hopped in the shower to wash what I had left, looked down, and my remaining hair was at my feet. Very strange feeling, took me a while to get used to the new look. Stay well and keep that beautiful smile on your face,

Just a little update...my peach fuzz hair is still there! The oncologist said that as my chemo is dose dense & l'm having a round each fortnight, it would start to fall out after a week, & be totally gone by the 2nd round... 2nd round next Tuesday - l better get ready for some rapid hair loss!! (I doubt l'd be lucky enough to keep it, even if l did, l think the radiotherapy will see it go)

Here I am at the other end of that, 6 months later, and I constantly had people supporting me each step. You do look lovely, and how great it is that you shaved your head because you wanted to for Shave For a Cure Last year! So you have had that experience. You could always get some one to trace your eye brows now, make a stencil. I use a soft make up brush and brown eye shadow, which is a softer result than a pencil. I lost eye lashes and brows. I also had to buy lubricating eye drops for dry eyes. Well done for taking photo's, they look fantastic. It is great to have them to look back on, I found! Best of luck. I wore a cotton cap to bed each night as the spikes fell out, they didnt ruin my pillow. Bought at the Cancer Council in Launceston. Your positive approach will rub off on others, and you really do look great without so much hair! (smile).

Hi Bobby You look amazing, I hope I look half as good as you when I get the courage to do the shave. I'm doing mine in stages short hair first then shave. You have given me hope that it may not be so bad.

I do hope that you keep your eyebrows and eyelashes, I managed to keep a few of each but honestly by that time I no longer cared.

Now I am 6 months post chemo with think short curly hair, eyebrows, eyelashes and hair everywhere else too and no-one would know. All things pass and we move onewards too.

Thanks Bobbie, that was a really informative tutorial. I've been wondering how to feather the eyebrows, now I know. Might take me a bit of practice, but it's good info. You look great in your photo, take care
