Kaz, the chemo won't necessarily make you really sick....I felt like I had morning sickness or a hangover but I was never actually sick! Yes, you lose your hair and feel tired but chemo is do-able!
You have been through a lot so just wait to see what your oncologist recommends.
Incidentally I had a big bleed after my first mastectomy in 2003 as well. I had an allergic reaction to the blue dye that they use for tracking the lymphatic drainage whilst I was having my mastectomy. I ended up in ICU and then when I came to, I had a major bleed into the drains on that side and they ended up rushing me back in to stop the bleeding. I also had a blood transfusion. With my second mastectomy last year, I also had another bleed but this time it was only 400mls. It started on a Friday night and by the time I saw my doctor on the Monday I was in a lot of pain and felt quite sick. They put me into hospital the next morning to drain it but luckily this time I didn't need a transfusion. Maybe having a bleed is more common than we think!!
