I hope every single person on this network knows how brave and and extraordinarily Awesome you all are!! To be faced with a life changing diagnosis and to continually support one another through your fears and anxieties is beyond amazing and awe inspiring! .. Even though I havent met you I feel as though I have made some wonderful friends and "pink sisters". I have made a pact to get online more and contribute to assisting you all in any way I can. Right now.....round 1 of chemo came and left. 4 days if chronuc "morning sickness" nausea kicked my butt!! But day 5 was the turning point. Normality kicked in woo hoo!!. I was told day 17 (!!) My hair would fall out and bugger me its day 14 and its started to thin with little pieces coming out!! Every time a piece comes out I lick my finger and place it back on as though I've glued it back!! Bahahaaaaaa! ! The Cancer council in Nedlands are beautiful and my sisters had a ball at the wig library!! Amazing people who I call "Happy Angels" because ive never laughed so much!! • Very wise words. I certainly won't let the b...... win. It is a bit of a wake up call for me too. There was far too much stress in my working life. I gave 120% far too often and I think I have paid the price. I am only going back to work part time and having more ME time too. Hugs right back to you :) Janey xxx
  • Hi Tonnic2. You have a terrific attitude and you made me laugh out loud :) You will have you're bad days but if you can keep smiling and laughing, you'll get through this in no time. I am sorry you've had to join us but you're right. This is an amazing network of Pink Sisterhood. The friendship, love and support here is wonderful. Good luck on Thursday for round 2. • Hi yetbeung. To be honest I didnt want to do chemo. I waited 8 weeks after my mastectomy before succumbing to the treatment so I'm probably the wrong person to ask! But to be honest I'm glad I've started. I was never vain about my hair until it started to fall out. Today theres alot coming out but the positive is that I get to have the hair of my dreams long and chocolate. Then once I'm tired of it I may want to go short and red. Because I can!! Best of luck and remember you're a legend!!! Xx

  • Hi, I haven't had my first chemo yet, I have it on 03/12...so glad to hear you are at a good point now.

I've already told my hairdresser that straight after my first chemo session, I'm booking an appointment so he can shave my head and we can both drink wine (if I can stomach it) and have a good chat and a laugh...I did the World's Greatest Shave last yr so I really don't have a lot to part with, or a great attachment with my hair - it's amazing that once it's gone, you realise of what little importance it was! However, this time around I will be totally smooth shiny bald...not sure how I will like that.

I kinda want to get the chemo underway now, the sooner it starts, the sooner it's over, right??

Best of luck with it all, thank you for sharing :-)
