My first real blog, what's been going on lately

Hi all, not sure what I'm going to say here but I feel like I need to put some things down "on paper" so to speak... Been feeling a bit unwell for the last couple of days, pain in my lower back and hips that isn't going away after I get up and move around like it normally would, went and saw GP and he sent me for an X-ray to make sure that the cancer hasn't spread there, it's already in my upper back and ribs. Will get the results tomorrow afternoon, man I hate waiting!!!!!!! Had some unexplained nausea as well that I don't enjoy......... On the good side of life I have started going to a program at BreaCan called Here and Now with 7 other women with Advanced Breast Cancer, it's the first time I have really met other ABC women that wasn't in hospital, they are all really nice with a couple around my age which is nice. It is going to be an interesting few weeks that I am really looking forward too. Also last week I got an email from BCNA about my application to be a Community Liaison Officer saying that they were going to call me on Monday for a chat about me and the position, as per usual for my shocking memory I forgot about the call so it was lucky I was home when she called and we had a lovely chat (any of my friends would tell you I love to talk) and because I don't have a problem talking about my illness she thinks I would be good for the role, my theory is that......Yes I have Advanced Breast Cancer but it doesn't define my life, it may control it to a certain extent but there is more to me than it, i try to stay positive about everything and find the bright side of the darker things and times, however if someone asked me a question about my illness I will answer them honestly. My sister says I'm too honest and willing to talk about it but that's just me........ I am really looking forward to this coming weekend as I'm going away for a girls weekend with some of my best girlfriends to one of their holiday houses in Seaspray (near the beach apparently) should be full of laughs and relaxing at the same time

  • Hey Tracey

Not sure how long blogs can be. Mine are normally quite long hee hee.

Love the new photo? Do you live in Sydney?

  • Hi Tracey,

Nice to read about all the positive things that are happening in your life. I've been wondering how you are going. Hope you have a really relaxing and enjoyable weekend with your girlfriends. That sounds lovely. And I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you regarding the test results this afternoon. I really admire the way you are handling your situation. Very best of luck, Janet:)

  • Thanks guys, I can't help but tell it like it is, thats just me...... Just wondering do you know if there is a limit to how long a blog can be as mine was longer, I told about another trip where I overcome a big fear of mine and a few other things but they don't seem to have been posted...... Maybe I will do a "part 2" later and redo that bit... Keep well and stay positive
