My First Day BAck

Well. I have just done my first night shift after having my mastectomy. It went well and I feel like my life is back to something resembling normal. Got my oncologist next  Friday. Things will rocket out of control again after that as I am expecting to have chemo. I am just taking  as much normal as I can at the moment. My daughter came round to wish me good luck at my first night back at work. How wonderful our children are aye girls?? I work again on Sunday for a couple of hours and am looking forward to that. As i said I take normal where  I can get it.. My left chest wall is filling up on a regular basis. kind of nice to have a small breast again but I know it's not supposed to be there so I will go back to the clinic and get it drained again. Having to do that every week. My chest still numb and doesn't feel like its a part of me. It feels so very wierd. I hope that passes and I get some feeling back in it again. My love and good thoughts to all you brave women. XX

  • Yes it's good to work and feel abit normal again. I had to have fluid drained from my chest twice a week for 5wks so it's not uncommon.I'm sorry to say but the numbness under your arm and across your chest is here to stay. You can also get other weird sensations.I still feel like I have duck tape across my chest-1 yr on and so annoying. But when I put my bra and prosthesis on it improves- go figure! All the best for Friday.
