Oh? a photographer? Ooooooh goody she says :) I'm involved in citizen journalism. You're most welcome to have a look http://citizenj.edgeqld.org.au/ ; This is funded by the State Library of Queensland and no one is paid barring the editor. They're always after content as long as it is about Queensland or in Queensland or national and involving Queensland. The editor, Ursula is a photojournalist. I'm not sure where you are but if you're close it is fun, they do free workshops (photography as well) and the people I've met are wonderful.
That head nurse is just lovely to offer to come out to you. I've had a few awful years with some very nasty and stingy employers and I'd lost faith in humanity a bit until I left them. Then I was diagnosed with bc and I can't believe how nice people really are and it has me in tears all the time probably because I'm not used to it. I now have the loveliest employers, a young couple and they are so concerned about me. I've only been with them for 4 months and they've sent flowers to the hospital, she phones me all the time to see if I need anything and whether I'll be ok to come to work. There are good people on this planet.
I'm learning the hard way to let other people look after me and my best interests while I recover and go through treatments (but no one mows my lawns except me lol) and it's a huge life lesson that I've struggled with.
I hope you're up and bouncing very quickly.
Cas xx
