My beliefs about healing

During my study at Perfect Unison,  through experience and also through reading many healing books, I do believe we create illness in our body because of an imbalance in our life, but the illness is not meant to be some sort of punishment it is just a message from your body that something is out of balance. My teacher, Avril, writes

Illness in the body is merely the way your Soul communicates with you. It needs to get your attention. If you don’t listen to your Spiritual Guidance, your intuitions, emotional needs or mental inspirations often enough, the only way your body can tell you that something is out of balance is through illness.

The knowledge of this is tremendously powerful. If you have the power to recreate balance through your thoughts, emotional wellbeing, choices and actions then there is literally nothing in your body that cannot be healed.

Your body is not just a piece of meat. It is an intricate and very advanced piece of consciousness. It is more advanced than your mind. It is more Divine than anything else you can come into contact with. If you’re looking for a ‘God’ or spiritual connection, talk to your body! It is as perfect as creation energy itself. It is a perfect Divine design able to completely heal itself when given the right support.

  • I dont have a soul and I got Breast Cancer, it is not a "gift".

It will not be healed by mere thought, meditation, soul searching and emotional study and to say so is an insult to those who have died from this disease and those that will die from it.

They are fighting the good fight and do not need to feel that they are not doing all they can and have this disease because of  their chakra.

  • That is great, it is amazing what we can uncover about ourselves and what beliefs we hold onto from a young age which is not the truth about who we really are.  Fear actually supresses the immune system and makes it harder for our bodies to heal which is not good because it is hard not to be in fear when you are sick.

I have just heard of a lady who had cancer and ended up in hospital with three hours to live and she had a near death experience with all these amazing realisations about fear and loving herself and ended up totally healed from cancer.  Her name is Anita Moorjani and her book is 'Dying To Be Me' - very inspiring.

  • I have started to read your blog - it is interesting.  I am actively working witha counselor to work through my emotional issues and fears.  I guess it is similar though I am not using the same terminology.  I am working on forgiveness as being key to healing - this is a concept I am still trying to understand and I believe goes beyond the traditional meaning of the word as I know it (being brought up Catholic).  It is about leating go about guilt of the past and fear of the future.

Thanks for you blog and comments.

  • It is a multifactorial disease and one where i have spent many a day meditating, reading and talking to healers trying to understand it.  If anyone is interested I have started a blog just to put my thoughts down on paper as it helps me to get it out of my head and try to make some sense of it - http://giftofbreastcancer.blogspot.com.au/ I would be very interested in anyone's comments or if they have had a similar experience with holding onto emotional toxins.

  • I am sorry if my post seemed dismissive, that was not intended.

I think though that this line implies "cure" and that was what i was responding to -

literally nothing in your body that cannot be healed

Each to her own as you say.

  • I was not being dismissive just agreeing that if you have managed to heal yourself using body balancing then that is amazing, but seemed to simple to me (I don't know much about it, and forgive I have SHOCKING chemo brain at present so have issues with comprehension, understanding etc).

Yes everything that you can do that help each individual is a good thing, but nothing works for everybody.

I believe that environment, genetics, diet, lifestyle and even in some cases emotional issues etc can all make matters worse, and cause disease but personally I do not believe that emotional issues can cause things like cancer (My personaly belief only).

I did not mean to be dismissive on anyones belief and hope that is was not taken that way.

Eveyone has the right to believe what they want to...

  • Thank you for your post. Healing is complex and I felt te initial responses to your posts were somewhat dismissive of what is a valid viewpoint on healing. Healing and cure are different philosophical points of view. I prefer the term healing. I may heal but I may not be cured. I'd love both. Having advanced cancer has seen me explore aspects of my life I'd not given attention to. The prospect of a premature death before my children are adults has given me a clarity and a sense of needing to heal my life in many ways. I believe that cancer is multifactorial disease and emotional health plays a role in its possible development. As for why children get cancer there are many people in the world who believe in reincarnation and bringing emotional trauma fr one life into the next. This view is not for everyone but is an explanation that I have heard. We also do not know the full extent of toxin exposure in the womb or early life resulting in such disease. I don't know where I stand yet but I am open to listening to many thoughts and explanations on healing. Thank you for your thoughts. Amanda x
  • thanks for your comment, I understand and respect your thoughts and I also believe not everyone is "cured" but everyone can find healing in the gift and lesson in their experience so we can evolve into something better, stronger and more courageous that we were before. I too don't know if I am "cured"either. I had an aggressive form of bc and am only a year out from finishing my treatment but I definately know I have healed my life in lots of ways and have created a blog just to share my experience of that healing. I hope it doesn't come across as preaching or from ego, my intention is to inspire and see if other women have similar experiences or beliefs. I respect that everyone has their own personal journey to healing and everyone is different.
