Evidence shows that younger women are better suited to MRI due to the density of their breast tissue. Mammography does not perform well in women under 50 years for this reason. This is also why younger women are precluded from the Breastscreen program.
Mammograms are proven to perform well for women from 50 years of age whose breast density has reduced with age.
