Mouth ulcers

Hi all, Treatment is going very well with only 8 more taxol/herceptin to go but I am suffering horribly from mouth ulcers. I've tried everything! Biotene twice a day, cutting down on hot drink/food...

Hi Alison,

I am having FEC100 treatments and I get mouth and oesophageal ulcers too.  A trick my oncologist told me was to suck ice during a specific part of my chemotherapy, the ice stops the cells taking up the chemo drugs.  It worked brilliantly on my mouth ulcers but not for the oesophageal ones. 

I also found drinking smoothies, basically anything cold, also helped.
