How wonderful, a trip to Italy to look forward to! Having that ahead will help you to get through that first part of your Chemo.
It does feel exactly like you've been transported to another planet or world when you are diagnosed. It's like you took a wrong turn and now you can't get back to your previous life! I'm so glad that you don't have to miss out on all of your holiday. Having breast cancer is bad enough without it destroying all of your plans.
Good luck with your port and chemo tomorrow. Having a port will be so much easier for you in the long run. The chemo nurses love them because it makes their job easier too. I had FEC and found it not too bad. I did have some side effects for the first week, but found weeks 2 and 3 were pretty good. Hopefully this should mean you can enjoy your time in Italy. Take care.
