Mixed Bag Update

Results received weren't what I had hoped.
Good news: lymph nodes were clear.
Bad news: margins weren't.  There were a couple of cells that may become cancerous so more surgery is to be scheduled early next week.
I am also HER2+ so treatment will now include chemo as well as radiotherapy.

Not sure how I am taking this as it hasn't sunk in and I don't know much about HER2+ yet.  Not know about losing my hair but I guess the upside is that I still keep my breast.  Don't know about being stuck on Centrelink for longer either - just hope that I am adjust to treatment okay so that it doesn't prohibit me too much from finding even part-time/casual work.  Financially ok until the end of the year but next year will be a completely different ball game.
Tossing lemons.

  • Yep it is a bummer they don't seem to know until they get pathology back. This happened to me you will be ok. Remember one day at a time and be ready for things to change suddenly. Yes it is hard when your hair falls out but after a while you get used to it, take carexx
