I just wanted to jump in a welcome you to the online network. I hope you can find some support for both you and your mum by connecting with others who are going through the same experience.
You might find the Hope & Hurdles helpful - This is an information resource especially for women diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. If you dont have a copy you can order online and includes a booklet specific to bone and lung mets - order it online, or phone 1800 500 258.
