No portacath for me. I had one inserted but got a blood clot less than 2 weeks after surgery and had to have it removed. This was then followed by claxine (blood thinners) injected twice a day for about 4 weeks, by MYSELF... As if, surgery and chemo wasn't enough. I got to a point where I was having trouble find a non bruised spot on my stomach to jab myself. A PICC line was discussed, but my oncologist is leaving that as a last resort. Had a blood test today. Horrible again. Three attempts, lots of pocking around and lots of tears.
