sorry to hear the new of this next hurdle, it is horrendous, so glad to hear you cleared out, and yes you did it, heres hoping things will be safe for your return, take care of yourself, and now we are thinking of you with this one as well, have you been through the others before now or is this your 1st? good luck and take care, let us know how you are as soon as its over. today we were told to evacuate as I live on the beach.I loaded the car with all my special things and the all i could do was put the rest up as high as I could....I had just been for a 6k walk when they told us we had to go as a tidal surge is predicted for early tomorrow.At least we have been given enough time.Oh well teach me for saying "who needs a man" well i did it and all is battened down and I have moved to a motel in town.

Good luck to everyone else out there in Qld...the price we pay to live in paradise....lol

hi Again, thanks for letting us know how its going, and glad to hear things are not toooooo bad, i suffered terrible heart burn, and when i meantioned it to the oncologist, he gave me some medicine, the white chalky yukky stuff, but it really helped. thats good you have an appetite, and good on you for spoiling yourself, wish i was nearer smoked salmon sounds good to me, lol. make sure you mention ALL your symptoms to the doc, i know some of the side effects i got at the beginning of my cycle, i had forgot about by the time my next one came along (3 weeks), but i had my husband, so make sure you use your journal from bcna and write it all down. please let us know how you are going, i know we all have distance, but we can at least be here to chat anytime. so good luck thinking of you  Moira

I am very lucky because I am having a very easy time of it. The nausea drugs all worked I only had bad indigestion and heart burn.Found i couldn't sleep much.Have done a lot of cleaning.

I am really enjoying not having to go to work.

I spoil myself with smoked salmon and eggs for breakfast and steaks for dinner.I just want to eat all the time.I got back into my walking on day 3 as i usually like to power walk about an hour a day.Yesterday I went on a long bike ride.

I had 1 night that was a bit strange as I felt like all my insides were swollen and my skin was going to split.I just put bio oil all over me and it seemed to work.

I live alone but have had a lot of love from friends & family so I feel very blessed to being getting off lightly

Thanks for your reply Moira,,,just seems odd to be going through the flushes again. I know women get them while taking hormone type drugs as part of their treatment i had my operation nearly 6 weeks ago and haven't had any other treatment yet.My first round with bc back in 99 resulted in a mastectomy on my left side with no other treatment required, I t still took another 6 years before my menopause started.It finished about a year ago.Now it's back.I will take your advise and just phone up a breast nurse .I have had some nursing experience so I guess it's a bit of the "little information " is dangerous as i am imagining all kinds of things.Cheers and thanks again.

hi lorraine, although i went through menopause with no side effects before bc (I know ,i was the lucky one), the doc told me i would go through it again, and if i did once again i was lucky with no side effects, i know a few of the women on here are going through it, and although it is not nice, it seems to be a common side effect of bc, as i am sure you will be hearing from those that know better, one thing i can say is, make sure you ask your doc or professionals anything that is worrying you,  keeping it in because we think it is a stupid question to ask is not good for us, (especiallly in the middle of the night when we cant sleep because we are worried about it), so as we always say on here, no question is silly, we all have our fears, and hving gone through the bc journey we all need to know whats happening with our bodies, good luck with the chemo next week, and feel free to come on and shout, scream, laugh or cry, on here, there is always someone here to support you. keep in touch, and please feel free to add me to your contact list,  regards Moira
