Thank you for your practical tips Deanne. I was wondering about the after effects. I have had the same problems with my disease regarding stretching etc so hopefully this will be a little similar. How long were you in hospital for and how long afterwards did you need help getting in and out of bed, showering etc? How long before you could drive, go to the shops etc?
I am a sole provider of two teenage childrren. One is at Uni and the other is in Yr 11 so I am trying to keep the pressure off as much as is possible.
Did you have a sntinel lymph node biopsy whilst under? How did you prepare yourself psycologically for the loss of the breasts? I know people who have hysterectomies go through a grieving process, does this apply to mastectomies also?
