Meeting the surgeon

Wow so today was information overload! I met with vlad Milovic, he was great, he was very knowledgable. I felt relaxed as he knew what I needed straight up. I've had a concern since the start about loosing my nipples, and if I can have a reconstruction straight away. without mentioning this he talked about skin and nipple saving! Yay.

I felt a bit daft with my printout of questions however he did not seem bothered by this.  I thought I would go in and essentially just swap old ones for new!!!! However it won't be so simple. I'm too big and after mentioning my concerns over things going wrong he explained that's why I need a 2 stage op first expanders and then removal of the "things" ( I forgot the word!). I'm feeling pretty confident now as everything that was mentioned in the letter about what women should know he seemed to already know.

im a bit shocked about the cost still! And the little amount we get back from private health. He said it was 15000 however he didn't give a breakdown of what this covers. So I need to ask if this includes the hospital stay and  anaesthetist .

at this stage I have a pre-op appointment to ask more questions and still trying to decide if I should bother seeing any other surgeons. I feel I should go with my gut, I felt relaxed and confident with Vlad. He was honest about nipples not always able to be saved, and was confident that scaring would be minimal. One great thing was he is putting me in touch with another lady he did the same procedure on. 

 

So thanks ladies for the questions it helped to have when he asked if I had any worries or concerns and or questions. Often in times like ts we leave without asking anything, I didn't need to worry about going blank I had a list!!!!
