'Mediband' alert bracelets

Hi girls,

I'm just home from a checkup with my breast surgeon, and noticed a rack of Medibands on the counter.

Medibands are pink rubber bracelets from Medical ID Alerts.  It has in white and gold script "No BP or Needles in this Arm", and also in gold script "Alert!  Lymphedema".  They are $10.

I have found with flu shots, medical checkups, BP checks, blood tests, etc.  I always have to explain "Not in this arm please".  (In theatre, I wrote on my arm in case they did a BP check while I was out cold.)

I bought one.  If anyone wants to know more, go to www.mediband.com

  • So glad to hear that thing are going so well for you - good luck with finding a great new job!  Specialists are different aren't they - my Oncologist has put me on annual checks but the post surgical checks are still 6 monthly until next year.  Yes - I feel great too.  Have a wonderful Christmas season, Leonie  xx  Michelle

  • I have always used a medi alert rubber bangle.  I purchased my recent one from Queensland Cancer Council for $7 (bargain)  It is a good reminder to myself as well.  I had a good report from my specialist last week - he doesn't want to see me for 12 months.  I am doing the happy dance and looking for a full-time job now.  I feel great.  I hope you are the same. • Thanks - it did go well -  another in 6 months, until I pass the 3 year mark in 2015. xxx

  • What a good idea! I remember someone on here asking about whether this was a possibility a little while ago. Hope that your check-up went well. Deanne xxx
