Hi Lee, I had a left mastectomy 3 days after being diagnosed. The surgeon refused to do a double mastectomy at that time. I am now booked in to have a right mastectomy in July and spacers put in to create room for implants down the track.
I just don't want to have to think about checking for lumps, as I think we have enough to be paranoid about.
Discuss it with your surgeon and do what you feel is right for you.
