I believe you have to find an oncologist that you relate with and know is giving you the best options to give you the best possible treatment available for your diagnosis. If you decide to try alternative treatments always let your treating medical team know so they don't interfere with your conventional treatments. All the best...their are some wonderful treatment centres in the hospitals that offer meditation and all sorts of massage such as reiki etc to patients undergoing cancer treatments, maybe check them out. I know Perth has one in Sir Charles Gairdner.
Well meaning family and friends can be trying with their continual bombardment of "wonder" cures, I always just said thanks very much, took whatever they offered and decided myself after they'd gone if it went in the bin or perhaps I'd ask my oncologist:) that way no-one gets offended.
